Seattle Modern Orchestra performs three masterworks of post-WWII modernism: Bruno Maderna’s lyrical Serenata No. 2 for eleven instruments, Luigi Nono’s Polifonica-Monodia-Ritmica, and Pierre Boulez’s sensual Le Marteau sans Maître for mezzo soprano and six instruments with surrealist poems by René Char.
